YFC Nepal mission

I was one of the two youths who went to Nepal. We went there to establish YFC and KFC in the parish. It was my first mission so I felt a little bit nervous.

It was scary. I thought it was going to be very difficult. I imagined our stay there to be very hard. Thinking of the food, the place, not being able to speak their language and all…

But God did not leave us; he was with us throughout our whole stay and our mission was the exact opposite of the way I imagined our trip to be; the food was great, I loved it. We had a great place to stay, the weather was so cool, and the language was no problem. Everybody spoke in English and I even got to learn a few words in their language… instead of a difficult mission, it was a great mission.

We held the youth camp on Saturday July 16th and the KFC camps on Sunday July 17th. The two camps were very successful. We had 22 graduates in YFC and over 30 in KFC.

It was a very amazing experience. We felt at home and the people were open to us; they treated us as if we had known each other for a long time already. The experience was one of the best I’ve had in my life.

I’ve attended conferences before where I was like served by the other youths, but this time it was my turn. I was able to serve them. I gave talks and God was with me the whole time.

It was a great feeling, being able to serve, and experience being a true servant of God, proclaiming the good news and evangelizing others and making God’s great love known to them. It’s amazing.

God has been so good to me and I thank him for making it possible for me to be part of the mission in Nepal. Oh, it is indeed a blessing and I thank him for that. In fact I thank him for all the blessings he has given me.

“Thank you, God, for everything. Now I know what it feels like to be one of your servants, it is a great honor and one of the best things I can ever experience in life. I loved it and I sure would want to serve you for the rest of my life. Forever lord, I will be living my life and doing everything for you.”
